Redknapp will swoop for Tottenham striker Adebayor – report

Harry Redknapp will look to sign Emmanuel Adebayor from Tottenham when the transfer window reopens in January, The Sun say.

It is claimed that the QPR boss, who expects to bring in former Spurs man Jermain Defoe from Toronto FC, also sees Adebayor as an answer to Rangers’ shortcomings up front.

Both strikers played under Redknapp when he was manager at White Hart Lane.

Redknapp is tipped to pursue a loan deal for Adebayor, 30, or a cut-price permanent transfer.

There continues to be speculation over Redknapp’s future in light of Rangers’ dismal results and conflicting reports over the club’s supposed recent offer of a new contract.

And the Daily Telegraph believe the appointment of former R’s striker Les Ferdinand as director of football operations has increased uncertainty over Redknapp’s position.

The Daily Star say Ferdinand’s arrival has increased the pressure on the manager, with Tim Sherwood being considered as a possible replacement.

Meanwhile, Redknapp’s latest book is being serialised in the Daily Mail.
