Ramires linked with £25m move and Ferdinand tipped to land role

Real Madrid’s former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti wants to sign Ramires, the Daily Mirror say.

The Italian was in charge at Stamford Bridge when Ramires joined Chelsea in 2010 and is said to be a huge fan of the midfielder.

Ramires, it is claimed, would cost around £25m and Ancelotti apparently wants to spend heavily in order to strengthen his midfield.

Real recently sold Angel Di Maria to Manchester United for £59m and it is suggested this will enable Ancelotti to push for a big-money deal to sign Ramires. 27, either in January or next summer.

Meanwhile, it is suggested in the Daily Mail that QPR defender Rio Ferdinand is being considered as the FA’s candidate for British vice-president on Fifa’s executive.

Former Chelsea players Graeme Le Saux and Paul Elliott are also said to be in the FA’s thoughts along with ex-England goalkeeper David James.
