ESPN believe Swansea City want to sign Steven Caulker.

The QPR defender, who turns 25 on Thursday, spent the 2011-12 season on loan with the Swans from Tottenham.

ESPN say “sources close to the Welsh club” suggest Swansea are keen to take Caulker back to the Liberty Stadium next month.


O’Brien a target, Sun reckon

QPR and Fulham want Millwall striker Aiden O’Brien, The Sun claim.

Wigan and Barnsley are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old Irishman, who has scored 10 goals so far this season.

Clubs will try to tempt Millwall into selling by offering £750,000 when the transfer window opens, The Sun reckon.


Villa linked with Smithies

Aston Villa are interested in QPR goalkeeper Alex Smithies, the Daily Mirror have claimed.

The newspaper declared that the Midlands club are “eyeing a £4m move” for the 26-year-old, who has been in excellent form this season and saved a penalty in Rangers’ recent home defeat against Villa.

Smithies is under contract at Loftus Road until 2018 and has been discussing a new deal.


Hill dismisses reports of return

Clint Hill has dismissed reports that he could return to QPR.

It was recently claimed that the R’s are interested in re-signing Hill, 38, from Glasgow Rangers, where his contract expires at the end of the season.

“I don’t know where that story has come from. Maybe they needed to fill some space in the paper and they have put that in,” the Press Association quoted Hill as saying.
