Star claim Bournemouth want QPR duo for £15m

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s clubs…

Bournemouth want QPR defenders Steven Caulker and Nedum Onuoha and are prepared to pay £15m for the pair, the Daily Star claim.

The Cherries expressed an interest in Caulker a year ago but then looked elsewhere and he later joined Southampton on loan.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is said to be keen to sign him this summer and has also been linked with Onuoha, who was recently confirmed as Rangers’ captain for the coming season.

Chelsea gossip

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reports that Chelsea are on course to sign 19-year-old forward Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, from Brazilian club Santos.

Chelsea are also hopeful of concluding a £30m deal to sign Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to the Daily Mail.

Leicester have offered the 25-year-old a new contract, reportedly worth more than £100,000-a-week, but Kante is said to be keen to move to Stamford Bridge.

Reports in the player’s native France suggest Chelsea have had an offer of around £29m accepted.

That has prompted The Sun to declare that the Blues are closing in on an £80m double deal for Kante and Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who is apparently rated at £50m by the Italian club.

Reports in Italy, on the other hand, claim Everton are looking to beat Chelsea to the signing of Koulibaly.
