News in brief: Ouseph in action, Etheridge plays for QPR U-21s

QPR
Former Fulham goalkeeper Neil Etheridge played for Rangers’ development side as they drew 0-0 at Cardiff.

Etheridge, 24, has been without a club since leaving Craven Cottage earlier this summer and was invited to play in Monday evening’s game because young QPR keeper Joe Lumley has gone on loan to Accrington.

Fulham
Mesca scored with a spectacular 30-yard strike for Fulham Under-21s as they beat Everton 2-1 at Motspur Park. He doubled the lead after Marcello Trotta had opened the scoring.

Chelsea
Blues players will wear black armbands against Everton on Saturday as a mark of respect to the club’s life president Richard Attenborough, who died on Sunday.

Lee Cook
The Hammersmith-born former QPR man scored a second-half hat-trick after coming on as a substitute for Barnet in a 4-0 home win against Dartford on Monday.

Non-League
North Greenford United won 3-0 at Hanwell Town in a one-sided derby. David Manu scored twice in the second half after George Moore had given the visitors a 40th-minute lead.

Badminton
Hounslow’s Rajiv Ouseph (pictured above) will face Chong Wei Feng of Malaysia in the first round of the World Championships in Copenhagen on Tuesday afternoon.
