Tottenham and Liverpool linked with Chelsea’s Cole

Tottenham and Liverpool have been linked with Ashley Cole after Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho revealed the left-back would not be in the Blues side to face Arsenal on Monday.

Amid speculation that Cole’s attendance at Arsenal’s Christmas party has angered Mourinho, the Express suggest the player could end up at Spurs, where Jan Vertonghen is filling in at left-back, or Liverpool, who are without the injured Jose Enrique.

Paris St-Germain, who have previously been linked with Cole, are mentioned as another possible destination for the England international.

Chelsea want at least £12.5m for Kevin de Bruyne if they are to let him leave on a permanent basis, according to Belgian newspaper La Derniere.

The 22-year-old has struggled to win at first-team place under manager Jose Mourinho and his representatives have sought talks with the club to discuss De Bruyne’s future.

There has been speculation about whether he will be sold or loaned out when the transfer window opens next month.

A number of German clubs are reported to be keen to sign him, with Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg said to be leading the race. Leverkusen are apparently willing to match the Blues’ asking price.

Meanwhile, Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk has told Brazilian media he remains focused on his performances for club and country despite speculation about his future.

The Brazil international, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, is quoted as saying: “I hope to keep helping Zenit in the Champions League and in the Russian League in 2014.

“But most of all I want to help Brazil win the sixth World Cup title we dream of, as winning at home is the dream of every player.”
