More speculation over Phillips and Cech, Fulham linked with keeper

A round-up of today’s transfer speculation involving Chelsea, QPR and Fulham….

West Bromwich Albion have again been linked with a move for QPR winger Matty Phillips.

The Express and Star newspaper claims the Baggies have turned to Phillips after losing interest in Wolves star Bakary Sako, and will step up their interest if Rangers are relegated from the Premier League.

Chelsea want to sign five players from La Liga to significantly strengthen their title-winning squad, the Daily Mail claims.

Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane, Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann and Barcelona winger Pedro, who have all been linked with the Blues in the past, are said to still be on Jose Mourinho’s wishlist.

But the Mail also links Chelsea with Real left-back Fabio Coentrao and Getafe’s 28-year-old goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.

There is more speculation surrounding Palermo striker – and supposed Chelsea target – Paulo Dybala.

The Daily Mirror, picking up on reports in Italy, suggests the Uruguayan is wanted by at least three sides and his future could be decided in the next 10 to 15 days.

Chelsea apparently face competition from German club Mainz to sign Japanese international Yoshinori Muto.

The Mail believes the 22-year-old FC Tokyo forward may prefer to join the Bundesliga side for more regular first-team football.

Reports in Italy claim Liverpool have rejoined the list of clubs hoping to sign Petr Cech, with Arsenal and Tottenham previously linked.

But former Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins told TalkSport he believes the club won’t want to sell Cech to a Premier League rival and that the keeper should join Paris St-Germain.

The Independent, picking up on French media reports, suggests 18-year-old Chelsea midfielder Jeremie Boga is attracting interest from Marseille.

Meanwhile, Fulham are reportedly looking to sign Newcastle goalkeeper Rob Elliot.

The Newcastle Chronicle reports that Elliot, who has made five appearances for the Magpies this season, will be allowed to move on this summer.
