Taarabt still keen to leave QPR

Adel Taarabt has told Italy’s TMW he is still hopeful of securing a move from QPR back to Serie A.

Taarabt, sold by Tottenham when Rangers boss Harry Redknapp was manager at White Hart Lane, has been desperate to leave Loftus Road for some time.

He ended last season on loan at AC Milan and is keen to join them on a permanent basis but his representatives have been unable to persuade them to pursue a deal. More recently he has been linked with their rivals Inter Milan.

The Moroccan, who made his first start of the season in QPR’s 2-1 defeat at Burnley on Saturday, said: “My agent is working to find a solution.

“I’ve always said I want a change of scenery, and I repeat that. There’s been contact with some Italian clubs. Let’s see.”

Taarabt added that he believes “there has been contact” with Inter – comments the Italian media have reported as confirmation that QPR want an exchange deal involving Yann M’Vila.

Rangers have not made a fresh approach for the French midfielder, having tried to sign him two year ago before he joined Rubin Kazan.

M’Vila is now on loan at Inter and there have been reports that QPR want the season-long deal scrapped so that he can join them and Taarabt can go to the San Siro in an exchange deal.

“I think we’re in the midst of negotiations that involve other players. The situation is complicated,” Taarabt said.

“All I can say is that I’ve trained a lot, even by myself because I don’t play very often. I’m fine and I want to fight for something important.”

Meanwhile, the Express have again linked Chelsea with Juventus’ Paul Pogba.

It comes after his agent Mino Raiola apparently suggested the former Manchester United midfielder could be on the move.

Raiola is quoted as saying: “He cannot stay for very much longer in Italy.

“We extended his contract and we are happy that we did so. But when it is the right time to leave, we will inform them. I don’t know when that moment will be.”

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks, is also a target for Manchester United, the Express say.
