Roma and QPR reported to be chasing Portuguese defender

Roma are set to compete with QPR for the signing of Porto defender Rolando, according to Italian media reports.

The 29-year-old Portugal international, who has been on loan at Inter Milan and Napoli, is one of several centre-backs Rangers have discussed as a possible signing in recent months.

Meanwhile, the Express have linked Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi with a possible move to Chelsea after Inter coach Jesus Hernandez suggested the Argentine striker could leave for England.

“If Icardi played in Spain or England, where he is likely to go, he would be a star. He has the talent to be the new Ronaldo,” Hernandez recently told Gazzetta dello Sport.

And there continues to be speculation that Chelsea could make a move for Everton full-back Seamus Coleman when the transfer window opens in January.

It is claimed that Everton are looking at potential replacements for the Republic of Ireland star.
