Saints youngster will snub potential Chelsea move, report claims

Southampton left-back Matt Targett will snub a potential move to Chelsea by signing a new contract, the Daily Star say.

It is claimed that the Blues, Arsenal and Liverpool are keen on the 19-year-old, who has been discussing a new deal at St Mary’s.

Targett’s agent Leon Callender is quoted as saying: “We are in discussions over a new contract. He is in the right place.”

The Star once again suggest Chelsea are hoping to sign former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid and Galatasary’s Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

Galatasary will apparently offer Sneijder a lucrative new contract in order to see off the supposed threat of him moving to Stamford Bridge or United.

Meanwhile, the Express say Chelsea could be interested in Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik.

It comes amid speculation that the Italian club might be forced to sell players in January because of financial problems.
