Transfer gossip: QPR in for striker, Mirror claim

The latest transfer speculation involving QPR…

QPR want Bristol Rovers striker Matt Taylor, the Mirror reckon.

Brighton, Cardiff, Wolves and Glasgow Rangers supposedly also want the 26-year-old, who has scored 15 goals in 22 matches this season.

Those clubs “have all come in for Taylor” and he is “valued in the £1m bracket” but a clause in his Rovers contract means he can go for less, the Mirror say.

Rangers keen on trio, claims Dorking boss

QPR are among a number of clubs showing an interest in three Dorking Wanderers players, it is claimed.

Marc White, the non-League club’s chairman and manager, claims the R’s have been watching Sam Beard and Tom Summerfield, both 17, as well as 20-year-old winger Matt Briggs.

“A wide range of clubs have been keeping tabs on the three youngsters, including Queens Park Rangers, Bristol City, Portsmouth, Southend and Bristol Rovers,” White told the Surrey Mirror.

Chaplin linked

QPR and Fulham are among a number of clubs The Sun have suggested are interested in Portsmouth’s teenage forward Conor Chaplin.

The 19-year-old has impressed for Pompey this season, scoring five goals, and is said to have attracted the attention of scouts.

The Sun say Bournemouth and Ipswich have also watched Chaplin, who has scored 15 goals in 60 first-team appearances.

Chaplin signed a new deal at Fratton Park last month and is under contract until the summer of 2019.

Rangers linked with Irish duo

QPR were also recently linked with Andy Boyle and Daryl Horgan of Irish club Dundalk.

The Daily Record reported that Glasgow Rangers are showing an interest in the duo along with the R’s and a number of other Championship clubs.

Both players are coming towards the end of their contracts and were included in the Republic of Ireland squad for the recent World Cup qualifier against Austria.

The Daily Record quoted each player as saying they would welcome the chance to move across the Irish Sea.

Winger Horgan, 24, said: “At the minute, there are no offers on the table.

“I’m very happy at Dundalk but, as I said, if an offer does come in from somewhere, I’d have to consider it, especially from a massive club.”

Defender Boyle, 25, said: “I suppose an offer is definitely something you have to consider.”
