Speculation over Furlong’s future following QPR youngster’s debut

Newcastle, Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion and Hull are showing an interest in Darnell Furlong, the Daily Mail claim.

It comes after the full-back, 19, made his senior debut for QPR in their 2-1 defeat at Hull on Saturday.

It is claimed that Rangers face a ‘major battle’ to hold on to Furlong, who has been with them since the age of 10 and whose contract is up for renewal at the end of the season.

The Mail also suggest the situation is complicated because he is the son of former QPR forward Paul Furlong, who is the club’s Under-18s coach.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star continue to suggest Chelsea want to sign midfielder Sami Khedira from Real Madrid.

Manchester United and Arsenal are also being linked with the Germany international, who played under Blues boss Jose Mourinho at Real.

And Liverpool are now said to be looking to sign Khedira as a replacement for Steven Gerrard.

The Star also claim Chelsea could be interested in re-signing Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg.
