More speculation over the futures of Schurrle and Taarabt

There is more speculation over the future of Chelsea’s Andre Schurrle, with Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund reportedly interested.

Sky Sports believes the German World Cup winner wants to sign for Wolfsburg, with a deal being supposedly thrashed out between the two clubs.

They suggest Chelsea would demand more than £22.5m for the 24-year-old, who has been out of favour at Stamford Bridge this season.

However, Metro, picking up on reports in German newspaper Bild, claims the Bundesliga side have distanced themselves from a move.

Wolfsburg’s sporting executive Klaus Allofs is quoted as saying: “There’s nothing to it. Even if we were interested, we’d certainly not be alone.”

And Bild goes on to suggest Schurrle may be a target for Dortmund, as a potential replacement for Marco Reus.

The Daily Express claims Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado.

However, it says the Blues would need to match the Colombian’s £26.8m release clause to complete the deal.

And Manchester City may use striker Stevan Jovetic as a makeweight in an attempt to pip Chelsea to the signing of Paul Pogba, the Daily Star believes.

The Daily Mail claims QPR’s Adel Taarabt may yet return to Italy with AC Milan.

It says the 25-year-old, who was on-loan at the San Siro last season and was the subject of an approach from Torino last week, is being lined up to replaced injured forward Stephan El Shaarawy.

Brentford, meanwhile, are preparing an offer for Derry City midfielder Michael Duffy, the Derry Journal suggests.

Duffy, 20, and his Candystripes team-mate Patrick McEleney both spent time training with the Bees recently.

And a former Brentford player may line up against them on Saturday, with midfielder Adam Forshaw said to be close to a move to Middlesbrough.

The Evening Gazette believes Boro will pay up to £2.5m for the 23-year-old, who left Griffin Park to join Wigan last September.
