Meanwhile, Chelsea have lodged a bid for Palermo striker Paulo Dybala, Sky Sports say.

Gustavo Mascardi, reported to be one of the player’s representatives, has been quoted as saying that the Blues put in a “very low” offer for the Argentine, whom he values at 40 million Euros (around £28.7m).

Mascardi also suggested he has been talking about Dybala with Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain but that Juventus are leading the race for the 21-year-old’s signature.

Reports in Italy claim Brazilian attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson could be a target for Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has been one of Lazio’s stand-out players this season and Tuttosport claims the Blues could offer up to 40 million Euros for him. He recently signed a new contract with the Rome club.

And the Evening Standard believes Marco van Ginkel will consider a permanent move to AC Milan when his loan spell expires at the end of the season.

Picking up on reports in the Netherlands, the Standard claims van Ginkel’s agent has not ruled out either a return to Stamford Bridge or rejoining Milan if they can find the £8m Chelsea would apparently demand.
