Chelsea tipped to sign Abdennour in £15m deal after Stones bid is rejected

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea are reportedly set to give up their attempt to capture John Stones and instead sign Monaco’s Tunisia defender Aymen Abdennour.

The Daily Mail say Abdennour, 26, has been lined up for a £15m move to Stamford Bridge after a £38m bid for Stones was rejected by Everton.

Liverpool are reported to have been targeting Abdennour and are said to have been gazumped by the Blues.

Zenit St Petersburg’s Argentinian defender Ezequiel Garay has again been linked with Chelsea, this time by The Guardian.

However, the Russian club has indicated that it would reject any offers for him.

And there continues to be speculation over whether midfelder Paul Pogba will move to Chelsea from Juventus.

The Sun claim he wants £300,000 per week in wages and the Daily Express run a similar story, declaring Pogba has demanded a five-year-contract at the Bridge worth £82.5m.
