Chelsea among Premier League clubs linked with Brazil midfielder

Manchester City have emerged as favourites to sign Brazil attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino, who is also wanted by Chelsea and Arsenal, claim the Daily Star.

They say that the Hoffenheim player’s representatives have already held talks with City, who are confident of finalising a deal despite.

Manchester United are confident they will beat Chelsea to the signature of Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne, according to the Independent.

The 24-year-old England international right-back is under contract until 2016 and has previously said he is happy to stay with the Saints, but he has been negotiating a new deal and is yet to agree terms.

Chelsea will demand a £10m fee for Petr Cech this summer, suggests the Evening Standard.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper, who has been consistently linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool as well as clubs in Serie A, is quoted as saying he will decide his future at the end of the season

An injury to Daniel Sturridge means Liverpool are likely to step up their interest in Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, reports The Times.

Former Blues forward Sturridge is likely to miss the start of the new season because of a hip injury which required surgery.
