Chelsea linked with Wass and Lucas Silva, plus latest Khedira speculation

There continues to be speculation over the future of Sami Khedira amid reports that both Chelsea and Arsenal want the Real Madrid midfielder.

The Daily Star now say Chelsea are ahead of the Gunners in a race to capture him and are looking for Khedira to sign a pre-contract agreement with them ahead of a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Express say the Blues and Arsenal have both been boosted in their apparent pursuit of the German because AC Milan are now being linked with Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho.

Earlier on Wednesday it was claimed that Milan were interested in Khedira and that this was a setback for both Premier League clubs.

Elsewhere, Spanish media reports continue to suggest that Real Madrid are keen to sign goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea.

There has been speculation that Cech could go to Spain as part of an exchange deal involving Khedira.

Other reports in Spain claim Chelsea and Real are both interested in 21-year-old midfielder Lucas Silva, who plays for Cruzeiro in his native Brazil

Denmark international Daniel Wass has opened the door to a move to Chelsea or Liverpool, again according to the Express.

It comes after the 25-year-old, who can play at right-back or in midfield, appeared to indicate that he would like to leave French club Evian.

“My head is still in Evian but if you offer me a departure in January, I will not say no,” he is quoted as saying.

“I want to progress and prove my abilities at a higher level.  But a club has to be interested to meet the requirements that Evian have.”

Meanwhile, QPR are one of several British clubs interested in Brazilian winger Wamberto, according to Sky Sports.

Celtic, Swansea, West Ham, Sunderland and Aston Villa are also said to be monitoring the 20-year-old, who is currently with Lierse SK.

His contract at the Belgian club reportedly expires in the summer and he has yet to agree a new deal.

It is claimed that a number of clubs are looking to capture him in January or sign him before then on a pre-contract agreement.
