Chelsea linked with Monaco midfielder and Real centre-back

Chelsea and Arsenal are both being tipped to make a January move for Portuguese midfielder Joao Moutinho.

Monaco are said to be looking to offload their high earners, which the Daily Star claims will alert the Premier League pair. Moutinho was previously linked with Chelsea after they won the Champions League in 2012.

The Star has also picked up on Jose Mourinho’s praise of Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane as “the best young defender in the world”.

It believes the Blues boss was dropping a hint at a possible January move for the Frenchman, who he managed while at Real.

The Daily Express again links Mourinho with a move for Mauro Icardi, claiming the Inter Milan striker is prepared to turn down approaches from Tottenham and Liverpool to move to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, reports in Italy say Chelsea are now favourites to sign Croatian striker Andrej Kramaric after Leicester had a bid rejected.

Tuttomercatoweb says the Rijeka forward could be signed by the Blues in January and then loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem.

And Brazilian striker Hulk has told the French media that he would not move to Chelsea.

The prolific former Porto forward, now at Zenit St. Petersburg, said: “I see no reason to consider a transfer to Real Madrid and Chelsea [but] I know these clubs have come forward to me.”
