Blues linked with Benfica youngster

Chelsea are lining up a summer bid for Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca, the Daily Star say.

The Brazilian, 20, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge having impressed since being signed from Bahia during the summer.

Chelsea also continue to be linked with Ross Barkley amid reports that Manchester City have backed off after being told Everton’s asking price is £50m.

The Express claim Chelsea are now leading a race to sign the England international.

Meanwhile, Kia Joorabchian has suggested that QPR’s Adel Taarabt could yet move to Italy.

Joorabchian, who has been involved in a number of Rangers’ transfer deals in recent years and acts as an adviser to Taarabt, negotiated a loan move to AC Milan for the Moroccan last season.

He was subsequently unable to secure a permanent move to the San Siro for Taarabt during the summer and plans to try again when the transfer window reopens in January.

“Taarabt in January can move, yes. Perhaps even in Italy, but it is too early to say,” Tuttomercatoweb quoted Joorabchian as saying.
