Chelsea among English clubs linked with France Under-21 star Ntep

Chelsea are among a number of English clubs showing an interest in Paul-Georges Ntep, according to reports in France.

Manchester City and Arsenal are also said to be keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, who almost joined QPR last season.

Rangers boss Harry Redknapp was keen to sign him but the club were unable to complete a deal to buy him from Auxerre.

He subsequently joined Rennes, where his impressive performances have led to speculation that he could be snapped up by a Premier League side.

His representatives have long been hoping to secure him a move to England and suggested Arsenal were keen on him prior to QPR approaching Auxurre in January.

And the Gunners have again been linked with Ntep, who was apparently watched by scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea and City in a recent game against Monaco.

Meanwhile, Italian media have reported that Petr Cech’s agent Viktor Kolar has insisted the goalkeeper will not leave Chelsea during next month’s transfer window.

Roma have been linked with the 32-year-old, but Kolar is quoted as saying: “Certainly Petr will not move during January.”
