Chelsea among clubs linked with Brazilian teenager Gerson

A round-up of today’s transfer speculation involving Chelsea….

Chelsea are among a number of clubs interested in signing a Brazilian 17-year-old supposedly valued at £22m, TalkSport claims.

Midfielder Gerson has scored four times in his 12 games for Fluminense and is a Brazil Under-20 international.

Chelsea, Barcelona and Juventus are all reportedly interested but Manchester United apparently lead the race, having sent scouts to watch the teenager in action.

TalkSport also revive a rumour linking Chelsea with Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann.

There is further speculation surrounding Real Madrid’s supposed interest in Eden Hazard, despite the player recently signing a new contract and insisting he planned to stay.

The Sun even claims there could be a swap deal in the pipeline which would see Gareth Bale move to Stamford Bridge.

Paris St-Germain have said Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be leaving the club in the summer, and the Express believes this is bad news for Chelsea.

The Swede recently criticised his treatment by French referees and the Express claims Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are all keen to bring him to England.

But PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi is quoted as saying: “Of course he will be with us next season.”

The Express also picks up on quotes from John Mikel’s Obi’s agent which it says leaves the door open for a mooted move to Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail speculates on the clubs interested in taking Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford on loan next season.

It suggests Aston Villa lead the race, but claims Crystal Palace, Everton and Southampton are also monitoring the 21-year-old, who has been on loan at Middlesbrough.

The Evening Standard believes Bamford will only be able to join a Premier League rival if Blues boss Jose Mourinho is assured the striker will be given regular first-team football.

And Belgian side Mouscron claim they have been in discussions over becoming a feeder team to Chelsea, in a deal similar to the one with Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem.
