Blues linked with Coleman, Fulham reportedly try to re-sign Schwarzer

Chelsea and Manchester United are again reported to be competing for the signing of Everton full-back Seamus Coleman.

The Express claim both clubs are ready to offer £20m for the Irishman when the transfer window reopens in January.

It comes after the Express had tipped Chelsea to sign Dani Alves, who is now said to be staying at Barcelona.

Meanwhile, reports in Italy suggest Roma are hoping to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.

And Goal.com say Chelsea have snubbed an approach from Fulham for Mark Schwarzer – because of the possibility that Cech will leave.

Schwarzer, who recently turned 42, left Fulham in 2013 after five years at Craven Cottage and joined the Blues as back-up keeper.

The Australian stood in for Cech last season and is now third choice, with Thibaut Courtois establishing himself as number one.

Fulham are reported to have tried to take Schwarzer on loan for the rest of the season.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho is said to have been reluctant to let him go as Cech’s departure would then leave Chelsea without experienced cover for Courtois.
