Chelsea linked with Real’s former Liverpool defender Arbeloa

The Daily Star claim Chelsea are ‘on alert’ after an apparent falling out between Real Madrid’s former Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa and Carlo Ancelotti.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in the 31-year-old, who played under Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at the Bernabéu.

He was substituted by current Real boss Ancelotti in a match against Cordoba, leading to Spanish media speculation that he could be on the move.

That could apparently be of interest to the Blues as it is claimed that they may make a move to sign him.

Spanish newspaper AS say Arbeloa would like to be reunited with Mourinho and that Liverpool could be interested in taking the player back to Anfield.

Meanwhile, Marco van Ginkel has turned down a loan move to AC Milan, according to Sky Italia.

Milan are keen to snap up the Dutch midfielder and his Chelsea team-mate Fernando Torres, who are both out of favour under Mourinho.

But reports suggest Van Ginkel’s agent has indicated that the player wants to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place.
