Latest Sterling speculation and report claims Magpies have made Austin bid

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea and QPR…

Chelsea will not offer Liverpool more than £40m for Raheem Sterling, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

The Blues and Manchester City are widely reported to have offered that amount for the Harlesden-raised England international.

The deal agreed to take him from QPR to Liverpool in 2010 means Rangers are entitled to 20% of any transfer fee if Sterling joins another English club and 25% if he moves abroad.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are keen on Partizan Belgrade’s Andrija Zivkovic, according to the 18-year-old’s agent Pedja Djordjevic.

“Valencia and Chelsea are two of the clubs who are interested in Zivkovic,” Djordjevic has been quoted as saying.

Chelsea continue to be linked with Juventus’ former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Italian media reports claim the Blues have held talks with Pogba’s agent ahead of a possible move and have made an offer for Augsburg’s Ghana full-back Baba Rahma, who is apparently wanted by Juve.

Reports in Italy also suggest that Mohamed Salash is set to hold talks with Fiorentina, where he ended last season on loan from Chelsea.

A number of other clubs are said to be interested in the Egyptian, including Tottenham and Inter Milan.

Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Chelsea could offer Salah to Atletico Madrid as part of a swap deal for Antoine Griezmann.

Newcastle have made a £14m bid for Charlie Austin, the Daily Express claim.

QPR are yet to receive any offers for the striker but there continues to be speculation over his future.

And the Express, which on Monday reported that Southampton had made a £10m bid for Austin, say Newcastle are in ‘pole position’ to sign him and once again suggest that the Saints and Chelsea are also interested.

Rangers want £15m for Austin. Southampton have denied making an offer and have indicated they are not currently interested in the 25-year-old.
