Blues’ Kramaric move said to have stalled, Defoe linked with Liverpool

Liverpool are the latest club to be linked with Jermain Defoe as the former Tottenham striker seeks a move back to England during this month’s transfer window.

QPR were unable to agree Defoe’s release from FC Toronto during the final hours of the previous window and are looking to finalise a deal to sign him.

The Express reports that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers been offered the chance to sign the 32-year-old, who played under R’s boss Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth and Spurs.

Leicester City have also been linked with Defoe in recent months and reports in Canada say the Foxes are close to signing him.

There has been speculation about QPR’s financial position and it has been claimed that chairman Tony Fernandes – a huge fan of Defoe who was desperate to sign him in August – is having to be convinced by Redknapp to bring him in.

There has also been speculation about Defoe’s wage demands and the fee Toronto want for him.

Meanwhile, reports in Spain suggest Real Sociedad’s former Manchester United boss David Moyes is looking to sign Mohamed Salah on loan from Chelsea.

Goal.com say the Blues’ predicted signing of Andrej Kramaric has stalled because Croatian club Rijeka have demanded more money.

Chelsea were reported to be ready to buy the 23-year-old striker, who has also been linked with Leicester, for around £8m.

The Express again claim Chelsea will look to capture Barcelona’s Argentina superstar Lionel Messi.

And reports in Italy again suggest Roma want Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.
