Chelsea linked with Dybala and Aston Villa striker Benteke

A round-up of today’s transfer speculation involving Chelsea….

Chelsea have joined Liverpool in showing an interest in signing Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, Goal.com claim.

The 24-year-old Belgium international signed a four-year contract at Villa Park in July 2013.

Chelsea’s apparent attempts to sign Argentine international striker Mauro Icardi have been boosted by the 22-year-old’s delay in signing a new deal with Inter Milan, suggests the Evening Standard.

Icardi was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge earlier this year but although the Italian side were confident he was close to signing a contract, he has yet to put pen to paper.

Petr Cech’s Chelsea future continues to be the subject of intense speculation with Inter Milan now joining Arsenal in leading the chase, reports the Daily Mail.

The 32-year-old Blues goalkeeper has been consistently linked with the Gunners, as well as Livepool, but Inter and fellow Serie A side Roma are also said to be keen.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have made £50m-rated Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba – reportedly a long-time Chelsea target – their main summer transfer priority, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Premier League champions have long been linked with the 22-year-old French midfielder, as have his former club Manchester United and Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris St Germain.

Another striker on Chelsea’s radar is Palermo’s Paulo Dybala, according to the Guardian, who say the forward’s future will be decided in the next two weeks. The 21-year-old Argentine is also reportedly wanted by Paris St Germain and Juventus.

Palermo president told Italian newspaper Giornale do Sicilia: “At least three teams are really interested in him. In 10, or a maximum of 15 days we will know his future. Those who understand football know his potential.”
