Button linked with Villa, speculation over Sterling, Austin and Green

A round-up of today’s transfer speculation involving the area’s four clubs…

Rob Green and Charlie Austin are again being linked with moves away from QPR after their relegation from the Premier League.

The Evening Standard claims Chelsea will be able to sign goalkeeper Green for £2m, with current back-up Petr Cech tipped to leave Stamford Bridge.

Fulham’s Marcus Bettinelli had been watched by Jose Mourinho but the Standard believes the Blues boss wants a more experienced option, similar to the role ex-Whites keeper Mark Schwarzer performed last season.

Meanwhile, Newcastle and Southampton are favourites to sign striker Austin, the Daily Telegraph suggests.

However, the Liverpool Echo claims Everton – who had been tipped to make an offer – are not interested in signing the 25-year-old.

The Telegraph links Brentford goalkeeper David Button with a move to Aston Villa.

It believes Villa boss Tim Sherwood, who worked with Button during his time at Tottenham, wants the Bees star to replace out-of-favour Brad Guzan.

Having seemingly agreed a deal to sign 19-year-old midfielder Nathan, Chelsea are apparently closing in on another Brazilian teenager.

The Daily Mail claims the Blues are tying up a deal for Fluminense striker Kenedy, who top-scored at the South American Under-17 Championship two years ago.

It believes neither Nathan nor Kenedy will be given a UK work permit, making them likely to join Vitesse Arnhem on loan.

A number of newspapers are suggesting Raheem Sterling has put his house on Merseyside up for sale, sparking rumours of a move from Liverpool to a London club.

Harlesden-raised Sterling has yet to sign a new deal at Anfield, and reports claim he has started to look for a property in London – which the Mail says will alert Chelsea and Arsenal.

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is again being tipped for a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Daily Star claims Stoke are actively seeking a replacement for the Bosnian, and believe the Blues could be interested in signing him.

There is further speculation about the future of Paul Pogba, who has been heavily linked with Chelsea.

The Daily Star picks up on reports in the Spanish media which say Pogba has handed in a transfer request at Juventus.

Sky Sports Italia, meanwhile, believes Manchester City have already held talks with the French midfielder.

The Daily Express suggests Palermo striker Paulo Dybala, said to be a target for Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, will sign for Juventus, while the Japanese press claim FC Tokyo striker Yoshinori Moto will turn down Chelsea for a move to German side Mainz.
