Spurs wiling to pay £16m for Arsenal target Remy – report

Tottenham are willing to pay QPR £16m in order to beat north London rivals Arsenal to the signing of Loic Remy, the Sunday Express say.

The striker is currently on a season-long loan at Newcastle, who, it is claimed, could find the price too expensive and are aware that Remy wants to play in the capital.

Meanwhile, the Sunday People say the asking price is £15m and that Spurs are willing to pay it but he has set his heart on a move to Arsenal, where his fellow Frenchman Thierry Henry was a huge star.

A source said to be close to the player is quoted as saying: “If Arsenal want him that’s where he will go. Where else would be big fan of Thierry Henry want to go?”

It is claimed that Remy, 27, wants his future to be decided before he goes to the World Cup this summer.
