Arsenal said to have leapfrogged Blues in race to sign Brazilian

Arsenal have moved ahead of Chelsea in a race to sign Benfica’s Brazilian forward Talisca, according to the Daily Star.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has apparently identified the 20-year-old as a potential replacement should Lukas Podolski leave in January.

The Star also declare that France striker Loic Remy has been ‘blasted’ for his decision to join Chelsea.

The story is based on a French journalist saying he believes Remy made “a bad career choice” by moving to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, The Sun claim Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish snubbed a move to Chelsea even though he could have doubled his wages.

The midfielder, 19, has signed a new contract at Villa Park reported to be worth £20,000 a week.

And the Daily Express pick up on comments made by Chelsea’s Oriol Romeu, who is currently on loan at German club Stuttgart.

The midfielder, who signed a new contract at the Bridge in the summer, said: “The Bundesliga is a good league to grow and to become a better player.

“We’ll see what happens, but now I’m focused on the present and helping the team.

“I don’t know what will happen in the next few years but I will never say no to staying in Stuttgart because they have treated me amazingly so far and I’m really happy here.”

The Express say it is a threat by Romeu, 23, to leave Chelsea unless he is given a chance in the first team by Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
