Chelsea and Rangers among clubs linked with France Under-21 star

Chelsea and QPR want Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula, The Sun say.

It is claimed that Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle are also interested in the Belgium-born France Under-21 international, who is apparently rated at £12m.

Imbula, 22, has been linked with Chelsea because the Blues’ French scout Guy Hillion watched Marseille play Toulouse on Sunday.

The Sun and the Daily Mail have an interview with QPR’s Adel Taraabt, who has responded to Harry Redknapp’s accusation that the player is three stone overweight and not fit enough to play.

Taarabt questions Redknapp’s managerial style and says the Rangers boss is “getting upset and making excuses” because of his struggling team’s dismal results.

There continues to be speculation over the future of Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira amid reports that Chelsea are among Premier League clubs keen to capture the German.

AC Milan were linked with Khedira but are now reported to have pulled out of the race to sign him, which the Daily Star say is a boost for Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, The Sun say Birmingham want Chris Hughton to return to the club for a second spell as manager.

The former City boss is reported to be on a three-man shortlist to take over at Fulham and it is suggested that he could hold out to see if he gets the job at Craven Cottage.
