Redknapp hits back after Keane criticises Rangers boss
QPR boss Harry Redknapp has described criticism of his management style by Roy Keane as “unfair”.
The Sun on Sunday reports that former Manchester United star Keane, currently the Republic of Ireland assistant manager, has accused Redknapp of being too soft on players.
Keane said: “Some managers seem upbeat with the players, like Harry; ‘All right lads, do what you want, have three days off’ – all that carry on.
“You don’t want people to be cosy with you. You think I was cosy with Brian Clough? Do you think I was cosy with Jack Charlton? Alex Ferguson?”
Redknapp, whose side are bottom of the Premier League, responds in his column for the newspaper.
“It’s unfair of Roy Keane to discuss my style of management,” he insists.
“He doesn’t know how I work, I have never managed him and he is talking from a distance.
“I’d never dream of talking about his management style. What he does is up to him and so is the way he chooses to work.
“I like Roy but what he is saying is rubbish. I don’t have to prove myself to anyone, because I’ve been a manager for three decades.”
Meanwhile, there continues to be speculation about Redknapp’s future following QPR’s dismal start to life back in the top flight.
The Sunday Mirror say former England boss Glenn Hoddle, who recently joined Redknapp’s coaching team, will be appointed as his replacement if results do not improve.

Harry is well liked and has managed teams as he says for years.
But trying to get the best out of players who clearly are not top flight may be an issue.
The start to the season shows there are two or three new additions needed.
The new signings have not settled in and one or two are no better than we already have.
But QPR are bottom the table never lies apparently however ther is lots of time to turn it around in my view.
A couple of wins and that’s us back in it.
I am a bit down hearted but still very optimistic all at QPR will turn things around.
You could say with Hoddle, Sir Les , Bond, Jordan and Rednap we have a better team looking on in the wings.
Keep the faith there will be more disappointments before the improvement starts.
