QPR linked with Gayle, plus speculation over futures of Caulker and Remy

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s clubs as the January window approaches….

QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wants Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle in a possible exchange deal involving Steven Caulker, it is claimed.

The Croydon Advertiser reports that Palace are among a number of clubs interested in Caulker, who has been unable to establish himself in Southampton’s first team since joining them on a season-long loan from the R’s.

Norwich and Sunderland are also said to be keen on Caulker amid speculation that his loan could be cut short during the January transfer window.

It is claimed that Rangers are looking for a fee of £5m and that Hasselbaink is keen to take Gayle to Loftus Road.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa boss Remi Garde reportedly wants to sign Loic Remy on loan from Chelsea.

A number of today’s newspapers, including the Daily Mirror, say Garde wants former QPR striker Remy, 28, to join the Premier League’s bottom club to try to help them stay in the top flight.

Both men were at Lyon earlier in their careers and Garde is said to be trying to use his contacts to lure Remy to Villa Park.
