Chelsea and Liverpool said to be battling to sign Arsenal man

Chelsea face competition from Liverpool for the signing of Arsenal’s Bacary Sagna, the Star reports.

It has been claimed that the Blues and Manchester City are interested in Sagna, whose Arsenal contract expires in the summer and who has reportedly told friends he will be leaving the Emirates Stadium.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has now been linked with the 31-year-old right-back, while Italian media reports suggest Sagna could be on his way to AC Milan.

Meanwhile, there continues to be speculation that Southampton’s Luke Shaw could join Manchester United in the summer rather than Chelsea.

The Mirror say Chelsea want midfielder Blaise Matuidi, who is tipped to sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain.

Sporting Lisbon winger Carlos Mane, 19, is another player Chelsea are said to be interested in.
