Crystal Palace reportedly looking to land West Ham’s Zarate
Crystal Palace are looking to sign Mauro Zarate on loan from West Ham, the Daily Mirror say.
Newcastle, Sunderland, Southampton and Aston Villa are also said to be keen on the forward, who was tipped to join QPR.
West London Sport revealed last week that Zarate, 27, would undergo a medical ahead of a possible loan move to Loftus Road but was one of a number of potential signings Rangers were considering.
It was subsequently claimed that the deal to sign him was as good as done, which QPR boss Harry Redknapp denied.
Now it is claimed that Palace are looking to ‘hijack’ Rangers’ bid to sign Zarate, who has failed to secure a regular first-team place since his summer move to east London.
The speculation comes after Alan Pardew took over as manager at Palace after leaving Newcastle, who were among the clubs linked with Zarate in recent weeks.
