Chelsea said to be chasing Bilbao star along with Man Utd and Arsenal

Chelsea want Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte, the Daily Mirror say.

It is claimed that Manchester United are looking to tie up a deal to sign the 20-year-old in January and that Arsenal are also interested.

United are said to have made an approach through intermediaries in an attempt to clinch Laporte’s signing when the transfer window opens.

Meanwhile, there continues to be speculation that Chelsea could table a big-money bid to bring former Tottenham star Gareth Bale back to England from Real Madrid.

And the Daily Express continue to link Chelsea with a move for Real’s Germany midfielder Sami Khedira.

It was previously claimed that the 27-year-old, who played under Blues boss Jose Mourinho at the Spanish club, was determined to leave in January.

The Express now reports that Khedira has told Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal that they will have to wait until the summer if they are to sign him.

It comes after Khedira was quoted as saying: “Right now, I cannot see any reason why I would leave the club this winter.

“Real Madrid is a great club to be at. This club has a place in my heart and there is absolutely no reason for me to say that I want to or have to leave. I get the feeling I am still wanted.”
