Chelsea legend Zola linked with manager’s job at QPR

Gianfranco Zola has reportedly emerged as the favourite to replace Harry Redknapp at QPR.

There is continued speculation about boss Redknapp’s future at Loftus Road following a recent three-game losing run.

Rangers drew with Leeds on Saturday and are now nine points behind second-placed Burnley in the race for automatic promotion.

And it is suggested in the Mail on Sunday that the QPR board could now make a change and that Chelsea legend Zola, who has managed West Ham and Watford, is in the frame to take over.

Chairman Tony Fernandes has insisted he will not sack Redknapp, who has described reports he could be axed as “a load of rubbish”.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Express say Redknapp’s trusted chief scout Ian Broomfield, who is leaving the club, has been offered a role at Arsenal.

Broomfield, who also worked with Redknapp at both Portsmouth and Tottenham, has been seeing out a period of notice.

And he has reportedly been approached by Gunners chief scout Steve Rowley.
