Chelsea among clubs linked with Napoli striker Higuain

A round-up of today’s transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea are among the Premier League clubs being linked with a move for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Reports in Italy suggest the Argentina forward will ask for a move this week and the Daily Express claims the Blues, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all expressed an interest in signing him.

The Express also believes any Chelsea bid for Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann may be complicated by talk that Monaco’s Radamel Falcao is keen on moving to Stamford Bridge.

Jorge Mendes, the agent of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, has supposedly been tasked with negotiating a fee for Griezmann. However, he also represents Falcao, who spent the season on loan at Manchester United, and the Express claims he may be torn as to which deal to push through.

Meanwhile, Spanish newspaper AS suggests Bayern Munich are also in the running to buy Griezmann.

Arsenal are reportedly worried they may miss out on signing Petr Cech.

The Daily Mail claims the Gunners believe Chelsea would prefer the 33-year-old goalkeeper to join Paris St-Germain, rather than a Premier League rival.

Didier Drogba, who announced he was leaving Stamford Bridge on Sunday ahead of his final appearance against Sunderland, is quoted by ESPN as saying he is open to a move to Major League Soccer in the US.

There is also speculation about three Chelsea players who have been out on loan this season.

The Stoke Sentinel suggests Stoke City still want Victor Moses to return to the Britannia Stadium, ESPN claims AC Milan hope to bring Marco van Ginkel back on loan and the Daily Express believes Gael Kakuta has agreed a four-year deal to move to Sevilla.
