Mitchell Smith has sold almost a thousand tickets for his European title clash with Zoltan Kovacs. Harrow’s super-featherweight prospect faces the Hungarian at the Excel Arena on 29 November on the undercard of the heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora.

Gary Waddock
The former QPR man has joined the coaching staff at Barnet. The 52-year-old, from Kingsbury, was manager at Loftus Road in 2006. He has signed a month-to-month rolling contract at Barnet, who are managed by his former Rangers team-mate Martin Allen.

Fulham
Defender Nikolay Bodurov says he believes the Whites are heading in the right direction under new boss Kit Symons. In an interview for the match programme for tonight’s game against Blackpool, the Bulgarian said: “We’re now starting to get our season going. Under Kit, I feel I’ll get the success I desire.”

Brentford
Goalkeeper Richard Lee, who has been suffering with a shoulder injury, started for Brentford’s development side in a friendly at Maidenhead on Tuesday night but was only able to get 54 minutes under his belt as the match was abandoned because  of a waterlogged pitch.

The Ryman Premier Division high-flyers have signed AFC Hayes defender Charlie Goode.

Badminton
Hounslow’s Rajiv Ouseph has been drawn against Germany’s Marc Zwiebler in the first round of next week’s China Open. Ouseph, the world number 28, is ranked seven places below Zwiebler, but he beat him at the European Team Championships in February.
