Amid speculation over Charlie Austin’s new contract, the striker has tweeted that he is “very happy” at QPR.

Rangers have long hoped that Austin will sign a new deal early this year and are confident he will put pen to paper in the coming weeks.

There are reports that the 25-year-old, who has been nominated for the Premier League player of the month award, is reluctant to commit his future to the club before the end of the season.

Austin tweeted: “Pleased to be nominated for @premierleague POTM. I’m very happy here and fully focused on the battle ahead #QPR.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea have tweeted a Vine clip of a cracking goal by youngster Kasey Palmer for the Blues’ Under-21 side in their 2-1 win against Porto.

And popular Brentford playmaker Sam Saunders took to Twitter after the club announced he had signed a one-year extension to his contract at Griffin Park.

“Delighted to of signed a extension! Looks like you are stuck with me for at least another year! thanks 4 the message,” he wrote.
