Van Ginkel completes AC Milan loan move

Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel has agreed a season-long loan deal with AC Milan.

The 21-year-old has not featured in the opening three games of the season and joins out-of-favour striker Fernando Torres at the Italian giants.

Dutchman van Ginkel joined from Vitesse Arnhem for £8m in July last year, but after suffering a serious knee injury in the League Cup against Swindon Town two months later, he has only played a total of four games for the Blues.

He has returned to fitness but has fallen down the pecking order behind Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas, John Mikel Obi and Ramires.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Petr Cech appears to be staying at Stamford Bridge despite speculation he would be moving on having lost his place to Thibaut Courtois.
