Salah is staying at Chelsea – Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said there is no chance of Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah leaving the club during next month’s transfer window.

The 22-year-old joined the Blues from Basel for £11m in January but has made only 17 appearances, of which only nine were starts.

And this season Salah has made just two brief substitute appearances in the Premier League.

But Mourinho said: “He is a player we like and trust. He is going nowhere, he doesn’t go for sure. Maybe he moves house, but not club.”

Salah impressed when given his chance in the midweek Champions League win over Sporting Lisbon, having failed to shine in his other two starts this season – notably against Shrewsbury in the Capital One Cup.

“Salah did well and the team did well – all of them – and for me that is very nice,” Mourinho added about the win over the Portuguese side.
