Owls extend Hutchinson’s loan spell

Sheffield Wednesday have extended Chelsea defender Sam Hutchinson’s loan spell by a month.

The 24-year-old has made four appearances for the Championship club since joining on an initial month’s loan in February and will remain there until 9 April.

He had a loan spell at Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem earlier this season and was at Nottingham Forest last term.

Hutchinson retired in 2010 because of a knee injury but made a surprise recovery and returned to Chelsea to sign an 18-month contract in December 2012.
