Mourinho unconcerned by Arsenal’s surge

Jose Mourinho says Chelsea do not feel any pressure from Arsenal despite the Gunners’ brilliant recent form.

Arsene Wenger’s side have won nine of their last 10 matches – a run which has included victories over Manchester City and Liverpool and taken them up to second place in the table.

They are seven points behind leaders Chelsea, who still have to face them at the Emirates Stadim later this month.

However, when asked if his team felt under pressure in light of Arsenal’s results, Blues boss Mourinho said: “Not really.”

The Portuguese added: “We need to win six matches and we know not to do our countdown based on teams in second, third and fourth losing.

“We can’t expect that. Our countdown must be about us winning.”

Chelsea moved a step closer to the title by beating Stoke 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

“We needed six victories and one draw and now we need five victories and one draw,” Mourinho declared.
