Mourinho gets his wish as Blues get PSG

Chelsea will face Paris St-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League.

It means a repeat of last season’s quarter-final, where Chelsea overturned a 3-1 first-leg defeat with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge to progress on away goals.

The first leg of the last-16 tie will be in Paris on 17 February and the return game will again be at the Bridge, on 11 March.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho had said that he hoped to be drawn against the French club, who signed David Luiz from Chelsea in the summer.

Speaking after Saturday’s 2-0 win against Hull City, Mourinho said: “If I could choose, I would say Paris.

“We don’t have a lot to choose because we only have five possibilities but, to make it easy for everybody, Paris.

“It is easy for us to travel, easy for the fans to travel and we don’t spend a lot of money to go there.

“They are a very good team and I prefer a good team that really motivates the boys.”

Meanwhile, Manchester City will face Barcelona and Arsenal were drawn against Monaco.
