Mourinho explains latest Schurrle absence

Jose Mourinho said Andre Schurrle missed Chelsea’s 4-2 FA Cup defeat against Bradford because of a back injury.

The German World Cup winner has been linked with a move away after struggling to make an impact at Stamford Bridge this season.

Mourinho had said Schurrle would feature against Bradford, only for his name to be absent from the squad.

But the Blues boss said after the game: “He arrived this morning saying he had a little pain in the back.”
