Chelsea Under-21s edged out by Man Utd

Chelsea: Tammy Abraham

Chelsea’s youngsters were beaten 1-0 at Stamford Bridge by Manchester United in their final home match of the Under-21 Premier League season.

Adnan Januzaj and England defender Phil Jones featured for the visitors, who went ahead courtesy of Matthew Willock’s low shot just after the half-hour mark.

United keeper Joel Pereira had denied Chelsea the lead by saving a shot from striker Tammy Abraham (pictured).

Abraham later went close to equalising when his near-post shot was deflected wide after he had been found by Ola Aina’s cross.

The Blues’ Under-21s complete their campaign with away games next Monday and Thursday, against Manchester City and Leicester respectively.
