Conte praises Terry and Fabregas after cup win

Antonio Conte praised John Terry and Cesc Fabregas after Chelsea’s FA Cup win at Wolves.

Skipper Terry was recalled to the starting line-up along with Fabregas at Molineux, where the visitors secured a quarter-final place with second-half goals from Pedro and Diego Costa.

Terry was typically composed at the back, while Fabregas had an impressive game in midfield.

Blues boss Conte said: “They played very well. It is not easy when you don’t play a lot, and John and Cesc and all the players showed me they have good form and it means they are good professionals.

“It is great to have these type of players in my squad, because I can count on them.”

Conte also praised Championship side Wolves, who caused Chelsea plenty of problems, particularly in the first half.

“It was the toughest game we have played in this competition so far for sure,” the Italian said.

“In the second half we played our football, scored two goals and created chances, but Wolverhampton deserve my compliments.”
