Four-match ban for Chelsea’s Ramires

Chelsea midfielder Ramires will miss the rest of the Premier League season after being given a four-match suspension.

The Brazilian accepted a charge of violent conduct following an off-the-ball incident involving Sebastian Larsson during the Blues’ 2-1 defeat at home to Sunderland on Saturday.

Ramires elbowed the Sunderland player – an outburst that was missed by the match officials but subsequently reviewed by an FA-appointed panel.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was charged with misconduct following comments he made after the match, which the FA allege called into question the integrity of the referee and/or brought the game into disrepute.

Assistant coach Rui Faria, who had to be restrained from confronting referee Mike Dean after Sunderland were awarded a penalty, has been charged with two counts of misconduct.

Mourinho and Faria have until 6pm on Monday to respond to their charges.
