Cech will decide his future – Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said there would be no point in trying to talk Petr Cech in to staying next season if the goalkeeper feels he would be better off leaving Stamford Bridge.

The 32-year-old played in Sunday’s Capital One Cup final victory against Tottenham, but has been replaced by Thibaut Courtois as the first-choice goalkeeper and has been linked with a move.

Mourinho said: “Petr doesn’t like anyone to persuade him. He will make his decision and when he makes it he will make the best decision for him and his future and I will wait.

“I hope he will stay but I don’t waste my time trying because nobody tells him what to do.”
