Transfer gossip: Lukaku set to stay at Everton – Mirror

A round-up of Saturday’s transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Romelu Lukaku will snub Chelsea and stay at Everton, the Daily Mirror say.

Speculation continues over the future of the former Chelsea striker, who was sold to Everton in 2014.

This summer there have been reports the Blues have had bids for him rejected, then that no offers have actually been made, claims that Lukaku is determined to return to his former club, that Everton had accepted they would lose the Belgian, and then that they were offering him a new deal in order to keep him.

Now it is claimed that Lukaku had told the Merseyside club he will stay at Goodison Park for at least another season.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Everton boss Ronald Koeman is planning for life without Lukaku.

Koeman said: “I have two plans – one is with Lukaku and one without him. There is a lot of interest for him we know.”

In Italy, reports continue to suggest that a deal for Juan Cuadrado to rejoin Juventus on loan from Chelsea is close.

And in Spain, reports continue to claim Chelsea are interested in Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, preliminary talks have taken place but Real president Florentino Perez is not keen to let the Colombian leave.
